What would you do to save someone you love?

In Fire & Flood, Tella Holloway faced a dangerous trek through the jungle and across the desert, all to remain a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed for a chance at obtaining the Cure for her brother. She can’t quit–she has to win the race, save Cody, and then fight to make sure the race stops before it can claim any more lives. In the next legs of the race, across the ocean and over mountains, Tella will face frostbite, sharks, avalanche, and twisted new rules in the race.

But what if the danger is deeper than that? How do you know who to trust when everyone’s keeping secrets? What do you do when the person you’d relied on most suddenly isn’t there for support? How do you weigh one life against another?

The race is coming to an end, and Tella is running out of time, resources, and strength. At the start of the race there were one hundred twenty-two Contenders. As Tella and her remaining friends start the final part of the race, just forty-one are left–and only one can win.

After reading Fire & Flood, I’m so stoked for this sequel! I can’t get enough of the action, suspense, and pandoras. Oh, and how can I forget Guy! I think this new cover’s pretty, though I do prefer the old one, I’m just not the sort who like faces on covers. Anyway, for the Fire & Flood fans, here’s some good news: you’ll be able to win an ARC (Advance Reader’s Copy) of Salt & Stone in the giveaway below hosted by the author. I wish you all the best (and sorry for fellow people living outside the US—like me—this is US-only). Continue reading “Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Salt & Stone by Victoria Scott”

Yes. You are looking at the cover of Follow the White Rabbit by Kellie Sheridan. Before I share my thoughts on the cover, which is designed by Ms. Sheridan herself, here is the synopsis of the book:

“For centuries, Wonderland thrived as the domain of beautiful bedlam and unapologetic madness. It was a place like no other. All it took was one girl slipping in through the cracks of the universe to start chaos spiraling toward order. In the 150 years since Alice’s visit, the realm has become tainted—almost normal. Rabbits in waistcoats and playing card minions are little more than creatures of myth, and Wonderland is literally falling to pieces.

For Gwen, Rose, and Lucky, Wonderland is home, and yet they know little of its former glory. When the Alice prophecy resurfaces, they’ll have one chance to use Wonderland’s own legends to bring a little mayhem back into their reality. For she who controls Alice controls the fate of Wonderland.”

– Goodreads synopsis

I can’t wait to read this book. I’m simply obsessed with Alice in Wonderland, and so when I first found out about Follow the White Rabbit, I was just bouncing around and going on and on about how much I want to read it.

As for my thoughts about the cover…

I thought that the cover model looked really cool with the spade face-art over her eye! (I’m going crazy over the colour of her eyes. it’s gorgeous.) And my next thought? ‘This girl has some really funky eyelashes.’ Not to mention really long ones, too! Next, her hair. I wonder how much hairspray/hair gel they used to get her hair up into two ‘bunny ears’? And the black ribbon adds on to the cover model’s innocent look.

Did I mention how much I love her eye colour?

Okay, enough on my thoughts about the cover and the book. What do you think of it? (:

Cover Reveal: Frigid by J. Lynn

Cover design: Okay Creations

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn’t anything new. They’d been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the ‘man’ in man-whore. He’s never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn’t want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she’s perfect and she’s everything. But the feelings he has for her, he’s always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they’re stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor’easter, there’s nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

Frigid will be available in digital formats on July 30th 2013
Print release of Frigid will be November 5th 2012

J. Lynn, also known as Jennifer L. Armentrout, is a # 1 New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author. She lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. When she’s not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russel Loki.
Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories….which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She is published with Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion and Harlequin Teen.
She also writes adult and New Adult romance under the name J. Lynn. She is published by Entangled Brazen and HarperCollins.

So, this was meant to be the Sentinel cover reveal but ended up being Frigid. Frigid’s actually an adult book, not YA, but it’s Jennifer L. Armentrout & we all know what that means! A great story, strong female lead & drop dead gorgeous male specimen. I’m definitely going to read this once it’s released. What about you? :)
