Stacking the Shelves is hosted at Tynga’s Reviews where all the books we’ve got recently would be featured – both physical and digital.
My haul this week includes…
Borrowed:
- Dissonance (Dissonance #1) by Erica O’Rourke
- Half Bad (Half Life #1) by Sally Green
Another tiny haul this week. And… I can’t believe I’ve finally gotten my hands on Dissonance. Nope, can’t believe it after waiting 8 months. Although I’ve been having a rough time with the books I’ve been anticipating this year (check out my reviews of Hexed and The Murder Complex if you want to know), lets hope this one will change things for the better. As for Half Bad, I had been at the library earlier this week and came across it. Wasn’t sure whether to borrow it though so I tried the 69 Test (links for the explanation below) on it and lo and behold! The female counterpart’s name is Annalise.
Why did that make me want to read Half Bad? Lets just say my friends and I have recently been feeling nostalgic about the older Barbie movies and if any of you recall, one of the main characters in Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper (which is also my favorite Barbie movie, go ahead and judge me) had been called Anneliese. So it just seemed an appropriate time to borrow and read a book with a character of a similar name. I know, my logic is odd and very much flawed.
Moving on, curious about the 69 Test? Here are articles from The Guardian and Epic Reads that will shed some light on it.
What books have you been stacking your shelves with this week?
I haven’t read either of those – I like the covers. Have a wonderful weekend!
