Top Ten Books On Adelena’s Summer TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we feature top ten books or book related stuff according to each week’s topic.

Like the rest of my seasonal TBR lists, I’ll be featuring books published in that particular timeframe that I’m excited for instead of the actual ones I’ll be reading (because I can’t ever stick to a reading schedule for long). Summer this year spans from 21 June to 21 September so all the books listed will be the ones (currently set) to be released between then!

Top 10 Books On My Summer TBR List:

Heir of Fire On the Fence Dissonance Midnight Thief The Kiss of Deception The Infinite Sea In the End Of Metal and Wishes The Jewel

1. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (09/02)
I don’t think this one came as a surprise. And thankfully, I’ve already preordered my copy, now September just needs to quickly arrive!

2. On the Fence by Kasie West (07/01)
This year, I’ve read all of Kasie West’s published books and I would read anything she writes now. I’m sure On the Fence will be yet another adorable and swoon-worthy contemporary!

3. Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke (07/22)
The synopsis of this novel is awesome but the truth is, I would read Dissonance based on that beautiful cover alone.

4. Midnight Thief by Livia Blackburne (07/08)
I’ve recently featured this in one of my WoW posts and literally can’t wait to read it! I have its prequel novella, Poison Dance, on my Kindle and will be reading it soon in preparation for Midnight Thief. So keep an eye out for that upcoming review!

5. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson (07/15)
Another high fantasy novel I’ve featured in my WoW posts! Although I’m not thrilled about the love triangle the synopsis seems to be hinting at, I can never turn down a high fantasy novel, especially one with such a gorgeous cover.

6. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey (09/16)
I have plenty of questions after finishing The 5th Wave but personally, the most pressing one is WHAT HAPPENS TO EVAN? Yes, I’ve got some priority issues.

7. In the End by Demitria Lunetta (06/24)
So In the After ended pree-tty intensely. Where will Amy go from there? Just a few more days until we find out but the suspense has been killing since finishing the first book.

8. Of Metal and Wishes by Sarah Fine (08/05)
I’ve yet to read a good YA novel involving ghosts but I sure hope this one will change that! Plus that cover! I love the colours used.

9. The Jewel by Amy Ewing (09/02)
The number of high fantasy novels being released this summer is drowning me in joy and this is one of them. Can you feel my impatience radiating off the screen?

10. Untitled (All Our Yesterdays #2) by Cristin Terrill (08/14)
There’s yet to be a title (let alone a cover!) for this sequel but according to Goodreads, it’s set to be released this August. I have  my doubts about that but a girl can hope… Because after reading All Our Yesterdays, I would be insane not to be desperately needing this sequel.

AHHHH! All the amazing books to be released this summer! I cannot handle my emotions right now. However, I do find it a little disappointing that no summery beach reads (except for On the Fence) made it onto my list. Oh well, I’ve never been that big of a beach read fan either. As you could probably tell, I’m more of a high fantasy, sci-fi, dystopia sort of girl. ;)

What books are you looking forward to this summer?

  1. WOW. UMM. WOW. This must be the first time I see The Infinite Sea cover and… I’m very very curious on what this seires has in store! The colour scheme took on a much cooler, metallic tone than The 5th Wave, wonder what that entails!

Have a great summer reading =)
