Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we feature top ten books or book related stuff according to each week’s topic.
As we welcome in a new year, new resolutions are also being made. This week, we are featuring our top ten goals/resolutions for 2014, both bookish and non-bookish.
Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2014
Adel:
1. Start reading my Bible on a daily basis.
I’m tired of being a lukewarm Christian, so yes.
2. Work my butt off at school. (assuming I get into one of my dreams courses in polytechnic).
In the situation that I do get into my dream course, this probably wouldn’t be too hard as I would be learning stuff I’m actually interested in that will contribute to my dream career.
3. Be more interactive in the blogosphere.
Sometimes, I feel like I become so awkward when it comes to interacting with other bloggers. Time to work on that!
JZ:
4. Love more, hate less.
Because love makes the world go ’round!
5. Grow taller.
Being petite can be quite inconvenient at times.
6. Be a better person than I was the year before.
As I quote from Bethany Mota, a YouTuber: “Let go of the bad things, and take only good things forward. If things this year didn’t always go exactly how you planned, that’s okay. Take this new year as an opportunity to be the best you can possibly be at everything you do. Not to be better than someone else, but to be better than YOU were last year. Challenge yourself. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to do but were always to scared… do it. If it doesn’t work out, at least you can said that you tried.”
Both (Adelena & JZ):
7. Read more books!
Adelena: I only just completed my Goodreads reading challenge (70 books) last year on New Year’s Eve. As a reviewer, I really fill like I should be reading a larger number of books in a year than that in 2013. Hoping to improve on that this year despite being a really slow reader!
JZ: I really need to widen my range of vocabulary.
8. Lead a healthier lifestyle.
Adelena: I’m downright lazy and my exercise routine is like a roller-coaster. The holiday season had made me an extremely glucose-filled person so time to start having a balanced diet, proper workout routine and all that. It doesn’t hurt to look better in the fandom-inspired outfits I’ve planned for this year either.
JZ: I don’t want to die young! And I have bad stamina – which will certainly not benefit me when there’s a zombie apocalypse.
9. Improve our time management.
Adelena: It can take me up to 5 hours to write one little review. I blame the internet. And my lack of time management skills. No more needs to be said.
JZ: I tend to procrastinate a lot, and I often regret not getting things done on time. Regretting something is the worst feeling ever.
10. Start honing our unbelievably rusty saving skills.
Adelena: Rainy days and all that jazz.
JZ: It doesn’t hurt to have a stash of cash when you need it. Plus, being able to buy something with my own hard saved money makes me appreciate what I have even more.
